The numerous beautiful golden sandy beaches are one of the main assets of this area. The waters are calm and crystal clear making this a true paradise for both adults and children.

Ayia Napa (7km) has a working harbour complete with traditional fishing boats. In the town square can be found cafes and local craft stalls, fountains and a beautiful medieval monastery. There is also a large variety of restaurants ranging from Japanese to McDonalds, travernas, bars and shopping facilities. Nissa Beach in Ayia Napa is rated as one of the best beaches in Cyprus and has a wide range of water sports available. also on the outskirts of Ayia Napa can be found one of the largest waterparks in Cyprus , Water World, ideal for both children and adults alike.

Protaras (4km) also has a very good selection of restaurants, bars and shopping facilities. Here there are 3 main beaches, Flamingo, Pernera and the famous Fig Tree Bay all with golden sands and crystal clear turquoise water. From here you can travel to Cape Greco with its stunning scenery and picnic/BBQ sites. The coastline also has other smaller equally beautiful beaches and coves which are ideal for exploring.

Further afield is the city of Nicosia , ideal for shopping and sightseeing, the Troodos mountains with stunning scenery and rural villages, some untouched by time. Also worth seeing is Lefkara village, famous for its lace.

For the children there is the Ocean Park Aquarium or Fun Park both in Protaras, go-karting in Ayia Napa or for something different a visit to the camel park in Larnaca.
